What has my attention — updated August 2026.

Work

Exploring what's next professionally, and actively interviewing for senior/staff engineering roles — a few tracks at once right now: backend/platform Go engineering, staff SWE, and a product cybersecurity engineer role around SDLC, IEC 62443, PKI, and industrial/IoT security. I'm still drawn to the healthcare + AI space — HIPAA, FHIR, and messy regulated data feel like the sort of thing worth building a business around, not just a job. Also running a consulting project building an AI clinical quality audit system for a counseling practice.

Building

• Salsa Collective / Tanda — AI lead management for Latin dance organizers. Go backend, Supabase, local LLM on a Pi 5. Studio home is Live Beyond Limit in Fort Collins.
• TSOTR Clinical Audit — AI-powered evaluation of counseling intake reports. Tebra EMR → Azure OpenAI (HIPAA) → Power Automate reports → Power BI dashboards. Configuration-driven design handling 35+ quality criteria across three document types.
• Mooncat — nail-polish catalog app with an AI stylist that suggests color combos. Just overhauled the suggest pipeline: local Gemma 4 12B on LM Studio with automatic cloud fallback (OpenCode Zen → OpenRouter), making suggestions ~6x faster.
• Deep Space — a real-physics ISRU colony sim (browser prototype, Earth → Moon → Mars arc). Just added the lunar day/night cycle so the colony can actually lose — solar collapses for ~14 days of night, forcing you to plan batteries and RTGs or lose crew to life-support failure.

Studying

Deep in interview prep, and staying sharp on security/compliance — prepping for Security+ and now a big push into OT/industrial security (IEC 62443 and NIST 800-82). Still playing around with distributed systems, AI/ML, and local LLMs as I figure out how they go into real products, and researching HIPAA-compliant LLM architectures for the healthcare consulting project.

Infrastructure

• Raspberry Pi 5 — runs Hermes Agent (cron-driven AI workflows), the Go sync backend, preview builds, and the Mooncat app.
• Desktop (13th Gen i7-13700KF, 96GB RAM, RTX 3060 12GB) — runs LM Studio for local LLM serving (Gemma 4 12B is the current workhorse) and heavier workloads.

Life

Latin dance 3-4x a week — salsa and bachata, deep in the Denver scene and now teaching. Getting into gardening — may upload some garden photos soon.
